Peter unfortunately I do not think this car is the answer all of a typical American’s adult problems. US News and World Report gave the Ford Fiesta ST 2/5 stars on reliability and 2/5 stars on side crash safety. While this car will certainly be the right fit for many Americans, I don’t see how 2/5 stars on crash safety will be the answer to any problems with a child, golden retriever and bag of groceries floating around the backseat.

With the rising rates of obesity in the United States, does the Fiesta really have the space to fit children in the back? I would think that sales that are geared towards families might be going to the Ford Expedition of the Chevy Tahoe, not a subcompact car.
Why would any working adult buy this car if they can buy a used Toyota for almost the same price? There are a lot of cars that look much more mature in the price range.
$22,000 is a bit too expansive for a compact car like this. Ford Focus ST is only 1-2k more expensive then Fiesta and it is a bigger and more powerful compact model. I can’t think of any reasons that people will chose Fiesta over Focus. Here are some cars I found online that is about the same price as Fiesta: Mitsubishi Lancer,VW Golf GTI, Subaru WRX. They are all manual transmission and small vehicles like Fiesta.
Zac raises a good point. This car is very small and with obesity rates rising many adults may be looking for a car a touch larger than the Fiesta. The car may be better suited for a single adult that has a short commute to work. Squeezing a family into this car along with a dog and groceries would get old fast.
I agree with everyone who commented above that it might not be the best car for the US market, but as with the regular Fiesta, it might be a good car for European or South American markets. Cars like the Fiesta ST are common for high school or college kids in my city, who like to have the feeling of driving a ‘spicy’ car without having to pay much.
Ford Fiesta is not only good for adult but they are also a best choice for new driver. I specially love its MYKEY and ECOBOOST engine. In my country (Vietnam), people love Fiesta and Yaris.
Here are some popular Fiesta versions in my country.
